Clutch Master Cylinder, Dunlop Type, E-Type Ser. I

Jaguar Master Cylinder Clutch (Dunlop)

This is the correct cast-iron Dunlop-style cylinder with a 90-degree angle between fluid ports for 3.8 E-Type (it replaced part number C17643 used on very early cars) and all Series I 4.2. Late Series I cars used an identical cylinder but with a shorter push rod. We now include both rod lengths to cover all applications. To prevent corrosion, these cylinders are plated gold. They can easily be painted "cast iron gray" for a truly original appearance if desired. This is an aftermarket cylinder, not genuine Dunlop part.

Because the Dunlop-style cylinder was not available for decades, many cars were converted to the later-style master cylinder (along with spacer C27168) with a 45-degree separation between the fluid ports. This is part number C27186. The later master was introduced in late 1967/early 1968 at 1E.1703/1E.14352 (RHD/LHD OTS) and 1E.21466/1E.34000 (RHD/LHD FHC) and was used on all Series II and Series III E-Types.

For Girling style, see part no. C27186
